Bike walk.

Jamie had this great idea to take the boys and their bikes with us on today's walk. The paved path was, in theory, great for riding on. But then we remembered...they both don't really know how to ride bikes. So Jenna and I walked on our own while they, rode, fell, rode, fell, rode, whined, fell, etc...

Also, on account of the bikes in the back I had to ride in between Jenna's legs in the car...

I was kind of embarrassed.

Berry picking

That's what I'm doing in this picture...helping myself to some low lying fruit along the path, blackberries I think. Quite delicious!

On this walk we also found:

1. A tiny toad.

2. A spider mama carrying babies on her back.

And....

3. These pretty flowers!

Oh, I forgot to mention getting ready for the walk...I tried to help Oli get his pants on and ended up wearing the pants myself!

Hope all is well with you. Miss you bunches, only one more week and we'll be reunited!

Must be summer

I got to watch cartoons on the bed with the boys this morning!

Wings

Jenna has been following me around all day trying to get a picture of my "wings" - apparently my hair on my shoulder blades grows straight out so...it looks like I'm a baby bird. I'm taking her word for it.

We took a walk with the whole family today. Was missing my dad...

But it was great to talk to you this afternoon! And since you're in Austria, Jamie got us some Vienna beer...it was good.

In closing, Jenna tried to take a photo of this pretty little flower but, I mooned her during the shoot.

And that's why we call these Taylor Tails!

Last day of school.

Apparently this is a big thing? They all seem pretty psyched...but also tired. Lots of fanfare this morning. Leal made 14 vases of flowers for his various teachers. I helped cut the flowers in the garden.

Sanna was watching Oli this week, and I liked being with her. But then she got sick so today Oli went to school with Jamie. He did not seem to think that went well...everyone passed out around 8 tonight. Even me...

But tomorrow is the weekend. Hallelujah. Hikes, snuggles, sniffs, and treats. That's my plan. Don't know 'bout these jokers. Miss you. Love you!

They found my off button.

QSuper hot day + longish walk and you know what happened. Yeah, found me a shady spot and became a rock for a spell. Jenna didn't mind, she was hot too and we had a sort of zen moment sitting side by side watching bike riders roll by. Sometimes it's nice to do nothing.

Leal was at a birthday party so she and I had a few hours to meander. It was good to be outside, the last few days everyone was bustling with end of school business so I missed a few walks.

Tonight it's raining like crazy and there was a tornado warning and they all went in the basement. I...did not. That place gives me the creeps. They even made a trail of greenies for me to follow but I stayed put on the couch. I'm no dummy, if a tornado actually came through I would have joined them but I know weather hype when I hear it and I was not concerned.

That being said, when it was time to call dibs on beds tonight I wasn't about to be the guy sleeping alone. Jenna doesn't seem concerned about having to go solo in Oli's bed. I think we could have squeezed her in but I said, "suit yourself." Which is a funny phrase coming from a dog, also Jenna never wears suits, but whatever.

Hope you're having a great day. I think about you constantly and even though I'm having a great time I can't wait to be with you again. I think it's already tomorrow where you are, so happy Father's Day. You know your hug is coming!

You Look Comfy!

I know you are having a wonderful time!  I can see it in your face!  That brings me great peace and comfort. We saw many dogs today in Budapest.  Mostly Fritz types and pug dogs.  There was only one dog that kind of looked like you trying to get on the boat trip up and down a part of the Danube River.  It made me miss your hugs and playful bites.  The Three Sisters blog is not going well at all....we aren't as good with technology as you are.  My sister Sue has taken most of the pictures as she promised she would do, but can't figure out how to get them to our blog site to share even though Dad has explained it to her many times.  I am beginning to be concerned that I won't have many pictures from this trip.  Hopefully we will get it figured out.  Please continue to be on your best behavior!  Mom

My buddy.

Thought I'd change things up tonight and snuggle with Oli. Also, I'm giving Jenna the cold shoulder because she left me at home and went to work without me.

It's official...

I am the most unphased dog in the world. To illustrate:

When I saw Oliver scoot by on top of a truck did I startle?

No. No, I did not.

When we saw a red balloon that seemed to have no string hover motionless in the sky, did I panic?

No. No, I did not.

When we suddenly stumbled upon a young buck not 20 feet from us in a field did I bark?

No. No, I did not. Instead we stared at each other for a few minutes in silence before he resumed eating and I resumed my walk.

As you know, I do not let the oddities of the world hamper my day. I was born to enjoy life and its mysteries. Why startle, panic, or bark when you can just observe think and listen. The world is so much more peaceful this way.

Your pictures from the trip were amazing, I hope you keep them coming!

Back at Huntley...

Last night Jenna went to a party for her friend Angela who is moving this month. I didn't get to go, but I heard it was really nice. She was asked to speak and got weepy. She made this picture of kids flying kites for people to sign.

Here's her with her friends.

This morning we got to go to Huntley and while it was nothing like Brevard, it was still pretty. The boys brought walkie talkies so while Jamie walked me one way on the path, Jenna took the boys on the boardwalk and they told me what they were seeing, then they traded places and did it again. They do find interesting ways to entertain themselves...

Last day in Brevard.

Well, all good romps must come to an end...and so on Saturday morning we prepared to head back to Alexandria. Jenna had a party to get to at 7pm so we had to hit the road shortly after a visit to the Farmer's market. I was SUCH a hit. Compliments galore. Between me and the baby it was difficult to move anywhere without pets and praise...

This is me hiding under a table. The paparazzi were everywhere!!!

Our drive home was uneventful, which was a good thing. But Jenna was really sad to leave. Even though she got to spend lots of time with Cadence I guess it wasn't enough.

Here's a funny thing that happened in the car though...all of a sudden Oli shouts out: "Mooma and Boompa are driving all around and they're really hungry but they can't find food!" And Jenna says, "how do you know that?" And he says, "I just do." Well, I hope that didn't really happen to you. Kinda creeps me out when that boy gets mystical...

Holy Junaluska!

Today I got to hang out with the kiddos some more, they were both ridiculously cute as you can see.

Then they left me to go into town. That was kind of a bummer but I'm still pretty tired from all the hikes.

Then they went to some place called Junaluska Lake where Andrew and Heather were having a party. It sounded kind of weird and I guess there was drama...I didn't get to go there either but apparently it was the only way Jenna and Oli could see them so I acquiesced. Tomorrow we hit the road again...I will miss this place and its people. Even if me and Caracol never got to be buds I have loved the freedom and the all-you-can-handle cuteness buffet.
